Got to 70th on 2nd prestige a day or two ago.  Still hating IW's hosting techniques, as most every game I join lately (PC) is laggy as shit.  Not to mention the terrible job VAC is doing preventing hacking/aimbotting/walling dillholes.
But, I still enjoy the game tremendously.  Debating on whether to continue the prestige grind or just stopping where I am now.

the aimbots and wallhacks really piss me off, especially when kill cam shows them aiming at me with 1 or more entire buildings between us and no possible way for them to actually see me

ok, I'm quite a n00b, but last night i did 12/1
but today i did an 11/11
i've been getting 17/6 and 15/3 etc etc lately
at least i'm not doing 3/15 anymore but feel i could still improve
i know a lot of the areas where i'm fucking up, but sometimes i just get cornered by 2 or more people which leaves me fucked and then the ass wads who camp at spawning points
i'd love to jump in a game with someone some time and maybe get some pointers

pointers:
play a lot, watch what other people do and try to do it

camping seems to work better than run and gun, especially if you're not as fast of a reaction, or can't spot enemies very fast.

every map has at least 2 great camp spots, watch where you get killed from to find them.

another question, are you using F12 to get your screenshots or a 3rd party app?  i've hit F12 on several occasions and i am unable to locate any files

Personally I print screen and paste to an external application when I'm done.  Of course, sometimes I forget to paste it, which sucks.  

Some days I have awesome games and melt faces.  Other days I get steamrolled over and over.  Just learn from your mistakes, find a weapon that you excel with, killstreaks that suit your playstyle and k/d, and keep your cool.  A large percentage of my deaths come from getting pissed at some douchebag camping in a corner and going after him over and over again.

One thing you might do as well is watch some Youtube videos of folks playing - WoodysGamertag is a self-proclaimed "unexceptional gamer" who gives great advice for average joes like myself.  Most of the vids are from Xbox, but the basic tactics are the same regardless of the console.

I joined a Hardcore Ricochet SD match.   The next match the game flopped to 3rd Person Cage Match.   Everyone was saying some random user came in and gliched the game type.

The matches that followed were 3rd Person Free For All.     That's not even an option!!!  It was way fun.  Everyone backed out after a while and I was stuck in the channel never able to find other games / team mates.

Anyone know how this glitched on Xbox?

Happened to me once too. that was back when the dual shotguns still shot from like 50 feet away was a fun time.

finally made 70 and got my ak, damn it was a good day

the tips have helped a great deal, I have also been playing more mission based matches to see what others are doing first hand.
and blinded by annoyance, i've determined that the best way to deal with arrogant elitists is to tube the fuck out of them and use RPG as secondary weapon 

now to devise a strategy for dealing with campers at spawn points
